Jack Wilshere has admitted it’s a “dream come true” to play for his boyhood club after the midfielder made his 100th Arsenal appearance in a 3-1 win at Fulham.

The England international was second half substitute at Craven Cottage as Olivier Giroud opened the scoring before Lukas Podolski netted a brace in west London.

The 21-year-old was rewarded with a new Gunners deal in December which will see the former Bolton Wanderers midfielder remain at Emirates Stadium until 2018.

Wilshere has scored five goals and made an 18 assists for the north London since making his first-team debut against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in September 2008.

And the Gunners midfielder expressed his delight via his Twitter page.

Wilshere said on the social media site: “First points of the season! Feels good! Thanks to the fans who made it down to craven cottage, amazing as always!

“Very proud to have played 100 games for the club I have grown to love! Dream come true! Thank you to all the fans for your continued love! Hopefully another 600 to come!”
