Jamie Carragher: Victor Moses will play an important role at Liverpool
Jamie Carragher tips Victor Moses to become an important player for Liverpool in the coming months after his move from Chelsea
Jamie Carragher has tipped Victor Moses to become an important player for Liverpool in the coming months as the Reds look to break back into the top four.
Moses, 22, moved to Anfield on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea as Brendan Rodgers bolstered his attacking options for the new campaign.
The Reds, who currently top the Premier League table after having secured three successive 1-0 victories, also signed defenders Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori late in the summer transfer window.
And former Liverpool centre-half Carragher is backing the Nigeria international to become a key man for the Merseysiders this term.
“Moses will be an important signing,” Carragher told Sky Sports News.
“It’s an area that they have struggled in maybe at times this season, in the second half being able to get out on the counter attack.
“He will give them strength in the wide areas. We’ve seen other clubs scrambling around on deadline day so from Liverpool’s point of view it was a good thing they were done [before the deadline].
“We’ll see if [any of the signings] feature on Monday night [against Swansea City] and see if they can stay top of the table.”
