Hernández: Man United’s De Gea will become the world’s best goalkeeper
Manchester United striker Javier Hernández backs his team-mate David De Gea to become the best goalkeeper in the world

Javier Hernández believes that Manchester United’s David De Gea will become “the number one” goalkeeper in the world.
The Spain international has endured an indifferent 18 months since moving to the 19-time English champions, with the 22-year-old making a series of high-profile mistakes.
But De Gea received plenty of praise for his impressive performance in United’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday.
And Red Devils striker Hernández is adamant that De Gea is good enough to play for the Old Trafford outfit, backing the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper to become one of the world’s best.
“A lot of people who know about football know that David is a top-class goalkeeper,” Hernandez told MUTV.
“That is why Manchester United bought him. They saw how good he can be. If he wasn’t at the right level to play at this club he wouldn’t be here and they are trying to look after him.
“To me, he is a complete goalkeeper. You see the great saves he made on Wednesday. He can also play with his feet, which is very useful to see in a goalkeeper.
“But I think he is doing brilliant and in a couple of years he will be the number one in the world.”
