Joe Allen: Luis Suárez contract massive boost for Liverpool squad
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen admits Luis Suárez's contract was a huge boost for all the Reds players

Joe Allen says Luis Suarez’s new long-term contract has given the Liverpool players a timely boost.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Anfield from Ajax in a £22.75m deal in January 2011, penned a new four-and-a-half year deal with the Reds on Friday.

Suarez has scored 19 goals in 12 Premier League appearances this season, and Reds midfielder Allen reckons the striker’s commitment will help the club attract top players.
“Luis is delivering week in, week out and that is the sign of a world-class player,” Allen told the Liverpool Echo. “He is scoring goals for fun, creating goals and as a team we are killing teams off.
“His new contract was a massive boost for all of us players – not only going into the Cardiff game but also for the rest of the season.
“For him to commit his future here is fantastic news for the club and for the supporters. That is the kind of signal you send out when you want to attract some big players.
“It seemed to be concluded really quickly which shows Luis’ intent and desire to be at this club.”
