Joleon Lescott: Man City must move on from Roberto Mancini
Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott says the Citizens must move on from the Roberto Mancini era

Joleon Lescott believes Manchester City must move on from Roberto Mancini and prepare for a new era under the Italian’s successor.
The Citizens sacked Mancini earlier this month after a disappointing end to the campaign which culminated in a 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
Manuel Pellegrini, who confirmed he will leave Málaga at the end of the season, is the front-runner to replace the former Inter Milan boss at the Eastlands outfit.
Lescott, signed by Mancini’s predecessor Mark Hughes, reckons the Citizens will move on from the Italian’s reign and look to the future under a new manager.
“It’s been difficult for everyone but it is important as a player you understand that no matter what happens you need to keep striving to improve every game. We’ll continue to do that,” said Lescott.
“The decision has been made by the club and we have to respect that as players. We play for Man City. They have seen fit to part ways with Roberto and we have just got to get ourselves right for the new manager.”
