Jose Mourinho tells Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger to accept football isn’t fair
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho continues to defend their decision to sell Juan Mata in the wake of criticism from Arsene Wenger

Jose Mourinho has continued to defend Chelsea’s decision to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United following criticism from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners boss was unhappy with the west London club’s decision to accept United’s £37m bid for the Spain international, particularly as Chelsea have already faced the champions at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge this season.
He’s a very intelligent person and he always has an opinion

After a bristly Mourinho pointed out that Wenger is someone who “likes to complain” earlier in his media conference at Cobham on Friday, the Blues boss later urged the Arsenal manager to accept that football isn’t always fair.
Asked about Wenger’s nature, Mourinho replied: “Nature? I think he is a very intelligent man. From what I know from meeting with him at Uefa and Premier League meetings, he’s a very intelligent person and he always has an opinion.
“He always likes to show his opinion. He always likes to share that opinion. He has that opinion about the market but he doesn’t think that he can do anything to change it, because it is what it is. He likes to have an opinion.”
Mourinho continued: “It isn’t fair that I play against Southampton and I play twice against Dejan Lovren, and Lovren is injured and doesn’t play against Arsenal – do you think that’s fair? It’s football!
“I call Mauricio Pochettino and I say you don’t play against Arsenal. You wait for Lovren to be ready. I want you to play [Jose] Fonte and Lovren because against me, you play them. So now I want you to play against Arsenal and Manchester City with Lovren and Fonte.”
