Juan Mata: Chelsea should have beaten Tottenham

Juan Mata felt Tottenham were lucky to escape with a draw after Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate at White Hart Lane.
Mata came off the bench in the second half to set up Chelsea’s equaliser at White Hart Lane as John Terry cancelled out Gylfi Sigurdsson’s opener.
But the Blues were forced to settle for a point after Fernando Torres was shown a red card following a clash with Jan Vertonghen.
The result left Chelsea four points behind early pace-setters Arsenal – and Mata wants a response as the Blues prepare for a trip to Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League.
“We are looking forward to get the three points following our draw in the Premier League against Tottenham,” Mata wrote on his blog on grada360.com.
“It’s not a bad result at White Hart Lane, yet I felt we could have won the match, especially with the team’s momentum in the second half.
“After Fernando was sent off, the last few minutes were tough for us.
“We must keep fighting because there are other teams that seem to be very strong now, such as Arsenal or Liverpool, although this is just the beginning.”
