Mata, Jones and more: Twitter reacts as Man United beat West Brom
Juan Mata and Phil Jones both tweet their thoughts as Manchester United beat West Bromwich Albion 3-0

Manchester United closed the gap on fifth-placed Tottenham to five points with a victory 3-0 at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
United took the lead at The Hawthorns in the 34th minute when Phil Jones powered in a header, before Wayne Rooney’s close-range finish and Danny Welbeck’s goal wrapped up victory for David Moyes’ men.
The Premier League early kick-off inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates, in chronological order.
England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) makes a point about Robin van Persie’s recent comments: “RVP goes off and immediately Rooney scores from close range. Van Persie was right about players being in the space he likes to be.”
Former United defender Gary Neville (@GNev2) senses a shift in the momentum as Moyes’ men move up a gear: “United playing like United all of a sudden with tempo.”
England hero Michael Owen (@themichaelowen) enjoyed giving his take on the game for BT Sport: “Decent game to commentate on. Manchester United looked a bit like their old self in the second half. West Brom have a big task to stay up.”
Playmaker Juan Mata (@juanmata8) – who played the full 90 minutes – is delighted with the three points: “Good performance from the whole team! Really enjoyed on the pitch. Buen partido de todo el equipo! Disfrute! @ManUtd”
And finally, United defender and goal-scorer Phil Jones (@PhilJones4) tweets his delight at the final whistle: “Happy to get back on the pitch and score a #goal. Great #victory and good performance today. Go @ManUtd !!! #WBAMUN”
