Andy Murray beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Sunday

Andy Murray ended Britain’s 77-year wait for a men’s singles Wimbledon champion after a 6-4 7-5 6-4 victory over world number one Novak Djokovic in the final.

The 26-year-old, who was runner-up at SW19 last year, secured his second Grand Slam title as the Dunblane-born second seed emulated Fred Perry – the last Briton to triumph at Wimbledon.
