Agent of top 26-year-old defender discusses Chelsea and Liverpool reports
The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly has responded to reports linking the Napoli defender with a move to Chelsea or Liverpool
Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent has insisted that he is constant contact with clubs such as Liverpool and Chelsea as the Napoli defender’s future continues to be a source of speculation this summer.
The Sport Review exclusively revealed on Monday that Liverpool had failed in an initial attempt to try and sign the 26-year-old defender from the Serie A side.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were heavily linked with a move to sign Koulibaly last summer but a move failed to materialise and the west London side ended up landing David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool are likely to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer as both clubs prepare to make returns to the Champions League next season.
However, the Senegal international’s agent was giving nothing away when quizzed directly about the reports linking Koulibaly with a move to Chelsea or Liverpool this summer.
Agent Bruno Satin told Radio CRC, as quoted by Metro: “Important players can receive offers, but at the moment he’s a Napoli player and they can also reject them.
“Every day you can read about interested clubs, in terms of rumours you in Italy are top of the world.
“It’s nonsense, and you don’t only do it with Kalidou. There’s a healthy working relationship with Napoli.
“Chelsea and Liverpool? I always talk with these kind of clubs, but about all of my clients, not just Kalidou. I do my job, we’re in the transfer window.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge last season, while Liverpool ended up fourth in the table.
