Alexandre Lacazette will net £200,000 a week in wages at Arsenal to make him the club’s top earner, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Lacazette has agreed a five-year contract with the Gunners to become the club’s second signing of the summer after the arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.
Lacazette has long been linked with Arsenal and the same story claims that the France international completed a medical at the club’s training ground on Tuesday before his move was officially confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.
The same story claims that Lacazette was introduced to his new team-mates at London Colney and could join up with his new side for their pre-season trip to Australia and China.
Lacazette was one of Europe’s top strikers last season, netting 28 goals and making three assists in 30 Ligue 1 games for Lyon last season.
The same article states that Arsenal have now “given up” in their pursuit of Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe this summer.
Lacazette will have to make do without Champions League football at Arsenal next season after the Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League last term.
