Charlie Nicholas is tipping Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal this summer but is confident Mesut Ozil will remain at The Emirates.

The duo’s future at the north London club has been a source of speculation throughout the 2016-17 season after both Arsenal players failed to agree contract extensions at the end of 2016.

Arsenal are in a difficult position with less than 12 months remaining on the contracts of their two star players.

Sanchez has been linked with a controversial move to Premier League champions Chelsea, while Bayern Munich and Juventus have been touted as potential destinations.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Ozil and Sanchez, former Arsenal midfielder delivered a mixed verdict on the Arsenal duo.

“We need a solution to Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil now,” Nicholas said.

“I think Ozil will stay but Sanchez will probably go and losing 30 goals is really damaging.”

Ozil moved to Arsenal in a club-record £42.5m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the 2013 summer transfer window.

The Gunners beat Liverpool to the £35m signing of Sanchez from Barcelona in 2014 after the forward impressed in the 2014 World Cup.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season.
