Robert Pires believes Antoine Griezmann would be the perfect signing for Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal have endured a tough season under Arsene Wenger which has led to speculation about the manager’s future at The Emirates.
The north London side are embroiled in an uphill battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four and to secure a place in the Champions League.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been touted as a potential destination for the Atletico Madrid forward throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
Griezmann has scored 25 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for los Rojiblancos this season.
Asked who Arsenal should sign in the summer transfer window, the club’s former midfielder Pires told BetStars: “Antoine Griezmann.
“He’s the perfect signing for Arsenal, but I know he’ll be very expensive.
“I think he’ll break the £100m-mark and I know Manchester United are keen to buy him, but for me, if I had the chance, I would spend every penny I have on Griezmann.
“He’s one of the best players in the world not named Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.”
