The Arsenal manager is hoping to make three signings in the summer transfer window
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal will make a maximum of three summer signings.
The Gunners boss signed a new two-year contract extension with the north London side last week despite Arsenal finishing in fifth place in the Premier League table.
Arsenal won the FA Cup trophy at Wembley last month thanks to a 2-1 win against champions Chelsea courtesy of goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey.
Wenger signed five players in the summer transfer window in 2016, including Germany international Shkodran Mustafi and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Arsenal finished 18 points behind Premier League champions Chelsea this season despite Wenger’s new additions.
Speaking to beIN Sports about potential transfers this summer, Wenger named the exact number of signings that Arsenal will look to make.
“I would say maximum three,” Wenger said.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title under Wenger since 2003-04 when the Gunners finished the season unbeaten.
The Gunners lost 10-2 on aggregate to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the competition.
