Arsene Wenger’s response when asked whether Arsenal want Riyad Mahrez
The Arsenal manager hints that the north London side could make an offer for Leicester midfielder Riyad Mahrez

Arsene Wenger has hinted that Arsenal could make an offer to sign Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez.
The Foxes playmaker handed in a transfer request last week after Leicester’s disappointing defence of their Premier League crown.
Mahrez committed to Leicester last summer but Craig Shakespeare’s side finished in 12th place in the Premier League table.
The Algeria international scored 17 goals and made 11 assists in Leicester’s title-winning campaign under Claudio Ranieri.
Mahrez was voted the PFA player of the year in 2016 after his big role in helping Leicester to win the Premier League title.
Wenger signed a new two-year contract with the north London side last week despite Arsenal finishing in fifth place last term.
Speaking to beIN Sports about the possibility of Arsenal signing Mahrez or whether the Gunners have already made an offer, Wenger said:
“Have we made a bid for him? No. Not yet. No, we have not.
“When I say ‘not yet’ it means it could happen. It might not happen.”
