Arsene Wenger urged to make Arsenal signings in these three key positions
Charlie Nicholas wants Arsenal to sign three players in key positions to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window

Arsene Wenger needs to sign Alexandre Lacazette, Virgil van Dijk and a defensive midfielder if Arsenal are to challenge for the title next season, according to Charlie Nicholas.
The Gunners boss signed a new two-year contract with the north London side on Wednesday to extend his reign until 2019 despite a largely disappointing 2016-17 season.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point behind Liverpool to miss out on a place in next season’s Champions League competition.
The Gunners won the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win against champions Chelsea but suffered a humiliating 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich in Europe to crash out at the last-16 stage for the seventh successive season.
Wenger has naturally been linked with a host of players as the 67-year-old looks to rebuild after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports about what positions Arsenal need to strengthen in the summer transfer window, former midfielder Nicholas said:
“He needs another top midfield player with Santi Cazorla out.
“Raphael Varane or Virgil van Dijk would be ideal at centre-back and Alexandre Lacazette is the striker I wanted, but all this contract delaying has probably meant we’ve missed out on him.”
