N’Golo Kante sends message to Chelsea fans about Antonio Conte
The Chelsea star talks up the influence of Antonio Conte in the France midfielder
N’Golo Kante has revealed that Antonio Conte has improved the Chelsea midfielder’s tactical awareness.
The Italian head coach was appointed as Chelsea’s new manager at the end of the 2015-16 season after the west London side finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last term.
Conte signed Kante in a £34m deal from Premier League champions Leicester City after the defensive midfielder had a spectacular first season in the English top flight.
The France international helped to bolster the Chelsea midfield as the 25-year-old was partnered with Cesc Fabregas or Nemanja Matic in the heart of Conte’s side.
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare thanks in part to Kante’s influential performances, which were enough to earn the France star the PFA player of the year award.
Speaking to EA Sports about how Chelsea manager Conte improved the defensive midfielder over the course of the 2016-17 season, Kante said:
“Yes, I think tactically he has improved me.
“I learned a lot last season with Claudio Ranieri and again I have learned a lot this season with my new manager.
“Conte has helped me looking forward, as well as tactical awareness.”
Chelsea will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
