Eden Hazard sends warning to Chelsea squad about next season
The Chelsea forward is aware that Antonio Conte's men face a difficult challenge in the 2017-18 season
Eden Hazard has warned his Chelsea team-mates that the Premier League champions will face a difficult challenge next season.
The Blues won the Premier League title in their first season under Antonio Conte after the Italian was appointed as Guus Hiddink’s successor at the end of the 2015-16 season.
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare before Antonio Conte’s men suffered a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The west London side will compete in the Champions League next season after missing out on a place in Europe last term.
Hazard has won the Premier League title twice but the Belgium international is still waiting to taste Champions League glory with Chelsea after moving to the London side from Lille in 2012.
Speaking The Strait Times about Chelsea’s potential in the 2017-18 campaign, Hazard warned his team-mates that next season will be tough.
“Next season, we will have the Champions League to play but we want to keep the Premier League trophy in Chelsea,” Hazard said.
“It’s going to be hard but we know [people] expect a lot from Chelsea now. But now is the time to think about holidays.”
Chelsea finished tenth in the 2015-16 season after a dismal defence of their Premier League crown.
