N’Golo Kante sends message to Chelsea fans ahead of FA Cup final
N'Golo Kante insists that his team-mates at Chelsea must take a large portion of credit for his success this season
N’Golo Kante has insisted that his team-mates at Chelsea must take a large share of the credit for his brilliant form this season.
Kante has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the west London side this term and his displays have not gone unnoticed, as he was voted as the PFA player of the year.
The French midfielder signed for Chelsea last summer after helping Leicester City to win the Premier League title.
He has been celebrating winning his second successive top-flight crown after Chelsea lifted the trophy in front of their home fans last weekend.
However, the 26-year-old has moved to deflect praise off himself and onto his team-mates after his sparkling debut campaign in west London.
Speaking to the Sun, Kante said: “It is good to win awards but the most important is to win together.
“I play in Chelsea, we have many players who have won more things than me – they have won everything. Me, I am just here to work. Two Premier League titles is good but it doesn’t mean much in this changing room, there are many players who have won.
“I came to Chelsea to work, to keep learning and to keep improving. We have some great players at Chelsea and the most important is the goal to win. The players have all worked hard this season, you cannot forget this.
“I am just one player of the team, I try to just have the same goal as the team. I try not to get carried away and to only focus on the team goals to keep winning, to keep performing to the best I can.”
The French midfielder will be hoping to help Chelsea end the season on a high when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
