Antonio Conte’s top Chelsea summer transfer targets revealed – report
Chelsea are looking to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as their top targets, according to reports
Chelsea have placed Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko at the top of their transfer wish list ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, according to report.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Antonio Conte wants to sign Lukaku to bolster the Italian’s attacking options at Stamford Bridge ahead of the defence of their title.
Lukaku scored 24 times in 37 games in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season – only Tottenham centre-forward Harry Kane netted more goals than the Belgian.
The 24-year-old moved to Everton from Chelsea in the 2014 summer transfer window after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.
Monaco’s exciting defensive midfielder Bakayoko is another of Conte’s top targets as the Chelsea manager looks to improve his options in the centre of the pitch.
Chelsea will face competition from Manchester City and Manchester United for the highly-rated midfielder after the 22-year-old helped Monaco to win Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League semi-finals last term.
Chelsea are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the title in Conte’s first season in charge at the club.
