Insider reveals truth behind 22-year-old’s proposed move to Liverpool
The Guardian's deputy sports editor Ed Aarons claims that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Naby Keita this summer
RB Leipzig haven’t received an offer for Naby Keita despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, according to the Guardian‘s deputy sports editor.
Ed Aarons has confirmed on Twitter that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the Senegal international in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Keita has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to use his experience of the Bundesliga to strengthen his Liverpool squad.
However, the Guardian reporter has revealed that Bundesliga runners-up RB Leipzig haven’t received any offers for the highly-rated African star.
Aarons went on to add that Keita isn’t willing to discuss extending his current contract with the German club amid talk of a move to the Premier League.
Aarons wrote on Twitter: “RB Leipzig yet to receive any offers for Guinea midfielder Naby #Keita. Player has so far refused to discuss extending contract #lfc #afc”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds signed seven players in the summer transfer window in 2016 as Liverpool looked to overhaul their squad following an eighth-place finish.
