Jurgen Klopp holds talks with 24-year-old about becoming second Liverpool summer signing – report
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Mohamed Salah about a move to Anfield, according to reports in Italy
Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Mohamed Salah about a potential move to Liverpool as the Reds look to bring the winger back to the Premier League, according to reports in Italy.
GianlucaDiMarzio.com is reporting that Klopp has talked with the 24-year-old winger about a switch to Anfield as Liverpool look to close in on their second summer signing.
The same article states that Klopp has made Salah feel like he would be an important member of the Liverpool manager’s squad to make a transfer more likely.
Liverpool were widely reported to have failed with an offer in the region of £30m for the former Chelsea winger on Thursday afternoon.
The Italian media outlet is claiming that Liverpool must increase their bid to £43m (€50m) to complete a deal to sign the African starlet.
Should a move materialise, it would make Salah Liverpool’s second official recruit of the summer after the Reds tied up a deal to sign striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea last week, with the forward to officially sign for the Reds on 1 July.
Salah moved to Chelsea in an £11m deal from Swiss side Basel in January 2014 but he struggled to make an impression at the west London club.
Liverpool will be hoping to use the lure of Champions League football next season to attract some top players to Anfield.
