Liverpool could target 25-year-old Dutch winger if Mohamed Salah deal falls through – report
Liverpool are thinking about signing Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes if a deal falls through
Liverpool could target Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes if a deal to sign Mohamed Salah from Roma falls through, according to an insider.
Russian football expert Artur Petrosyan is reporting that Liverpool could switch their focus to Promes should the Merseyside outfit struggle to get a deal over the line with Roma for Salah.
Promes was in excellent form throughout the 2016-17 season after a return of 12 goals and nine assists in 26 games in the Russian Premier League.
The Netherlands international has been previously linked with a move to the 18-time English champions but a deal failed to materialise.
Petrosyan, who has been published in the Guardian and Sky Sports, wrote on his Twitter page:
“If Liverpool can’t finalise the Salah deal, Quincy Promes becomes the next on the list. Spartak won’t be as stubborn as Roma.”
Liverpool secured a return to the Champions League last month after a 3-0 win against Middlesbrough on the final day of the 2016-17 season.
Jurgen Klopp is bound to be linked with a host of different players ahead of the opening of the 2017 summer transfer window.
The Reds have already agreed to sign England Under-21 international Dominic Solanke from Chelsea on 1 July.
