Man United to make £60m bid for top 24-year-old striker – report
Manchester United are ready to make another bid to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, say reports
Manchester United are set to table a £60m bid to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian is reporting that the Red Devils are planning to return with a fresh offer for the 24-year-old striker after having had an initial bid of around £52m turned down by Real Madrid.
The same story claims that Morata is now Manchester United’s “primary” target this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
The report states that Mourinho has picked the Spain international as his number one choice this summer after the Red Devils failed to be able to tempt Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid.
The article also claims that Manchester United are “confident” of being able to push through a deal to bring Morata to Old Trafford this summer.
Morata’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks due to his lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
Despite featuring often from the bench, the striker only started 15 La Liga games last term.
