Graham Hunter reveals when Man United will sign Antoine Griezmann
The La Liga expert still expects Antoine Griezmann to move to Manchester United... but not until 2018
Antoine Griezmann will be at Manchester United next year, according to La Liga expert Graham Hunter.
The France international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the 2016-17 season after his close pal Paul Pogba moved to Old Trafford last summer.
Griezmann rated his chances of a move to Manchester United as “six out of ten” last month before the Atletico striker took to Twitter to play down the transfer speculation.
The 26-year-old, however, signed a new contract with Atletico on Friday to end talk of a move to Manchester United this summer.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Griezmann’s future at los Rojiblancos, La Liga expert Hunter made a prediction about the Atletico striker’s future.
“If Griezmann had wanted to get Manchester United to pay his buyout clause or if he had downed tools, then Atletico may have sold him.
“He is not like that. He will stay. That’s the end of that story.
“In a year’s time, I’d expect him to be at Manchester United.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table but still qualified for the Champions League after a 2-0 win against Ajax in the Europa League final.
The Red Devils also won the EFL Cup in Jose Mourinho’s first season.
