Ander Herrera sends message to Chelsea about Man United
Ander Herrera says Manchester United's 2-0 win over Chelsea last month was his favourite display of the season
Ander Herrera has described Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Chelsea in April as his most satisfying performance of the season.
The Spanish midfielder scored one and set up another as the Red Devils claimed an impressive victory over the eventual Premier League champions at Old Trafford last month.
Herrera has been one of Manchester United’s most consistent players this season and he was named as the man of the match during the Red Devils’ Europa League final win over Ajax in Stockholm last week.
The 27-year-old scored one goal and made six assists in 31 Premier League games for Manchester United this season.
And Herrera singled out the Chelsea game as one of his favourite memories from Jose Mourinho’s first campaign in England.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Herrera said: “In the league, I think Chelsea at home was maybe the most satisfying performance of the season.
“Not from a personal point of view, because I never think personally, but for the team.
“We were facing the league leaders and, at that time, they were scoring in every game and no-one could beat them – but we did it. It was a very good day, so if I could choose one game, I’d choose that one.”
Manchester United will go straight into the group stage of next season’s Champions League after their Europa League triumph in Sweden in midweek.
