Jamie Redknapp sends exciting message to Man United fans about Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The former Liverpool midfielder can't wait to see Henrikh Mkhitaryan perform over the course of a full season for Manchester United
Jamie Redknapp admits he is looking forward to seeing Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan perform at his full potential over the course of a full season.
The Armenia international scored Manchester United’s second goal in a 2-0 win against Eredivisie giants Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm.
Mkhitaryan has scored six times in 11 appearances in Europe’s second tier competition in the 2016-17 season to play a big role in their Europa League triumph.
The 28-year-old has endured a tough season on the domestic front and the playmaker struggled to break into the Manchester United team in the opening months of the season.
Mkhitaryan moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp is excited to see how good Mkhitaryan will be in the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
“Henrikh Mkhitaryan also came up trumps having failed to fulfil his potential at Old Trafford this season,” Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“We have seen glimpses — such as the scorpion kick against Sunderland — and he produced another moment of inspiration to flick United into a 2-0 lead. His season only really got going in November.
“I can’t wait to see a full campaign from Mkhitaryan at his dazzling best.”
Mkhitaryan scored four goals and made one assist in 24 appearances in the Premier League this term.
