Man United told to sign Premier League star: You don’t find many strikers like this
Dean Saunders believes Jermain Defoe would be a great signing for Manchester United to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United should sign Jermain Defoe in the summer transfer window, according to Dean Saunders.
The Red Devils signed a veteran striker last summer when new manager Jose Mourinho recruited Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic, 35, has adapted quickly to the Premier League after a return of 15 goals in 25 top-flight games to help keep Manchester United’s top-four bid alive.
The former Sweden international has also netted 11 times in 16 games in Manchester United’s cup competitions in the 2016-17 season.
Defoe, on the other hand, has found the back of the net on 14 occasions in the current campaign despite playing for the Premier League’s basement club Sunderland.
The England international’s current contract is set to expire in 2019 but the striker has been linked with a transfer should Sunderland fail to beat the drop.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about Defoe’s future, former Liverpool striker Saunders suggested the Manchester United should sign the 34-year-old.
“When you’re talking about a striker who can replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jermain Defoe came into my head as a striker who you could have at a club who could get goals,” Saunders said.
“If he was playing in Ibrahimovic’s position, think how many goals he would score. Even if it’s to put him on the bench and bring him on. You can’t find players who can sniff goals out with his technique.”
