Man United look to beat Arsenal to £50m signing of 26-year-old striker – report
Manchester United are interested in signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazzette ahead of Arsenal, according to reports
Jose Mourinho is hoping Manchester United can beat Arsenal to the signing of Alexandre Lacazzette this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Mourinho has switched his focus to the Lyon striker after Manchester United ended their interest in Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann earlier this week.
The same article states that the Red Devils are now readying an offer in the region of £50m for the France international, who has been regularly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent seasons.
The 26-year-old striker has reiterated his desire to play for a club in next season’s Champions League which gives Manchester United an edge on their rivals Arsenal.
Lacazzette has scored a staggering 76 goals in 97 appearances in Ligue 1 over the past three seasons to prompt talk of a big-money move to the Premier League.
Manchester United were 2-0 winners against Lyon’s victors Ajax in the Europa League final last month to secure a spot in the Champions League.
