Andreas Pereira has told Jose Mourinho that he is ready for a stint in the Manchester United first team next season.

The 21-year-old is due to report back to Old Trafford after spending the season on loan to Spanish side Granada.

Although Granada were relegated from La Liga, Pereira was a regular fixture in the first team and managed to notch up an impressive 37 appearances for the Spanish side last term.

The midfielder is now set to return to Manchester United and try to prove himself to new manager Mourinho.

And Pereira believes that he is ready to step up and show himself as worthy of a spot in the first team next term.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Pereira said: “I think I’m ready now.

“I have played over 2,000 minutes now in men’s football, in La Liga, and I did quite well. I feel I’m ready, more than ready, to play men’s football now.

“I am more mature as well, physically and mentally, and I am ready to come back and hopefully push to play next season for United.”

Mourinho is likely to want a number of squad players next season as he prepares his team to fight on four fronts.
