Bryan Robson urges Man United to sign top 26-year-old striker
The Manchester United legend wants Jose Mourinho to sign Atletico striker Antoine Griezmann this summer
Bryan Robson believes Antoine Griezmann has the quality to improve the Manchester United team.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the 2016-17 season after Griezmann impressed during the European championship last summer.
The 26-year-old rated his chances of a move to Manchester United as “six out of ten” last month before the Atletico Madrid striker took to Twitter to urge his followers to ignore the transfer speculation.
The latest reports suggest that Griezmann has asked to leave Atletico but los Rojiblancos remain confident of convincing the France number 10 to change his mind and stick with the Spanish side.
Robson, who works as a club ambassador for Manchester United, is hopeful that Jose Mourinho will complete a deal to sign Griezmann before the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
“Griezmann is a top class player,” Robson told talkSPORT.
“We know that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid but he’s the sort of player that United would want to bring in.
“He’s definitely a player who’s got the quality to be a United player.”
Griezmann scored 16 times in La Liga last term, while the Manchester Untied target netted six times in 12 outings in the Champions League but couldn’t help Atletico to beat Real Madrid.
