Jose Mourinho to sell 27-year-old Man United player this summer – report
Chris Smalling is set to be shown the exit door at Manchester United this summer, according to reports

Jose Mourinho will sell Manchester United defender Chris Smalling in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Telegraph is reporting that the Portuguese coach has already deemed the English defender to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after the Red Devils announced a deal to sign Victor Lindelof from Benfica over the weekend.
The same story claims that Premier League sides West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and Everton are all interested in signing Smalling this summer.
Mourinho is said to be “not convinced” by Smalling after having worked with the defender during his first season in charge at Old Trafford last term.
The article also states that Smalling has recently switched agents in a bid to help him get the best transfer this summer.
It is suggested that Mourinho plans to partner new signing Lindelof with Eric Bailly in the heart of Manchester United’s defence next season and will keep Phil Jones as a versatile back-up.
Manchester United are aiming to challenge on four fronts next season after the Red Devils booked their place in next term’s Champions League by winning the Europa League last month.
