Striker’s agent sends message to Man United chief Ed Woodward
Anthony Martial's agent says that the striker wants to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window
Anthony Martial’s agent has insisted that the striker wants to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window.
It was something of a mixed second season for the French forward at Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho’s appointment at the club last summer.
The striker initially struggled to break into the first team under Mourinho and ended up being limited to 18 Premier League starts for the Red Devils.
Martial scored four goals and made six assists in 25 Premier League games for the Red Devils.
The forward helped Manchester United win the EFL Cup and Europa League as they secured their place in next season’s Champions League.
Now, the player’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, has spoken out about his client’s future.
Agent Lamboley is quoted as saying by Metro: “Martial has two years left and there is no reason for him to leave Manchester today.
“If Ed Woodward tells me they want him to leave, things are different.
“But that is not what he told me during our last meeting.”
Manchester United secured their place in next season’s Champions League with a 2-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League final in Sweden last month.
