Man United could break world transfer record to sign 18-year-old – report
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe this summer, say reports
Manchester United have joined the race for the signature of Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils have joined both Real Madrid and Arsenal as one of the front-runners to sign the 18-year-old this summer.
The same story claims that Arsenal failed with a £78m bid to try and lure the teenager to The Emirates this summer – and that Manchester United are ready to break the world-record transfer fee to bring Mbappe to Old Trafford.
The article goes on to report that Real Madrid are considered as the leaders in the race to sign the exciting teenager, but that Manchester United will continue with their pursuit of his signature.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be on the lookout for an out-and-out number nine in the summer transfer window after cooling his interest in signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
Mbappe scored 26 goals in all competitions in a sparkling season for Monaco.
