Manchester United could be in the running to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Sky Sports News HQ reporter took to social media of Friday to claim that Ronaldo could be on his way back to Old Trafford because he wants to leave Spain.

Solhekol claims that Ronaldo wants to quit Real Madrid because he is angry about being accused of avoiding tax by Spanish prosecutors.

The journalist suggested that Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain or China could be possible destinations for the 32-year-old superstar should he leave Real Madrid this summer.

Solhekol tweeted on Friday afternoon: “Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid because he doesn’t want to play in Spain any more. Possible destinations: Man United, PSG, China.”

He then added: “Ronaldo wants to leave Spain. Either he will leave or we (the media) are being used to show how angry he is at being accused of avoiding tax.”

Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United back in 2009 for a then-record world transfer fee.

The attacker is fresh from having helped Real Madrid win a trophy double of both the Champions League and La Liga.

It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to the reports linking Ronaldo with a return to Old Trafford but the prospect of the Portugal captain moving back to the Premier League club is sure to excite Manchester United fans.
