Agent delivers latest update on key Man United star’s future
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent tells all about his future at Manchester United beyond the summer
Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window, according to his agent Mino Raiola.
The 35-year-old striker’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks after his serious knee injury complicated his situation.
Ibrahimovic initially signed a one-year contract with Manchester United last summer after joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward was a regular fixture in the team and proved himself to be a key player for the Red Devils as he netted 28 goals in all competitions.
Ibrahimovic looked set to stay on and extend his deal for another year but he suffered a serious knee injury towards the end of the season to rule him out of action for a number of months.
Now, however, his agent has indicated that Ibrahimovic wants to stay on at Manchester United beyond the summer.
Asked if Ibrahimovic wants to remain at United, Raiola told talkSPORT: “Oh, yes. He wants to stay in England he wants to stay at the top and if he sees that he can be a valuable asset for Manchester United, then why not Manchester United?
“He can be a valuable asset for some other top clubs also. But I think it is respectful to talk to Manchester United and to see what all parties want.
“We have a lot of offers and ideas and we have to evaluate them. He has had a fantastic time at Manchester United and it is up to the club and myself to see what the future brings.
“For now, it is important he recovers well and then we will see.”
