Leicester 1 Man City 3: Manuel Pellegrini welcomes prospect of blockbuster League Cup semi-final
Manuel Pellegrini insisted that his Manchester City side are welcoming the prospect of facing Tottenham or Manchester United in the last four of the League Cup after his side eased to victory at Leicester City.
Aleksandar Kolarov opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a brilliant 25-yard free-kick, before Edin Dzeko headed home James Milner’s cross.

Dzeko then added a second shortly after half-time, before Lloyd Dyer netted a late consolation from close range.
Pellegrini said: “We had a very good first half, and then we had the possession and dominated the game until they scored.
“It is an important competition, it is important to win every game you play in and to get to the final at Wembley would be wonderful for the supporters.
“I think the Capital One Cup is different to normal because we could have Tottenham and Manchester United also in the semi-final so that would be beautiful for the fans.”
Meanwhile, man-of-the-match Dzeko insisted that City are determined to reach the Wembley final.
“From the first minute we tried to score first and we did it in the first half – scoring twice,” said Dzeko.
“It’s good to win every cup. We are in the semi-final and our target is to win it. There are big teams left but we don’t care who we play.”
