Michael Owen states his prediction for Leicester v Liverpool
Michael Owen predicts plenty of goals in Liverpool's clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening
Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to play out a thriller with Leicester City which should see plenty of goals at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Reds will be looking to get some revenge for their 2-0 loss to the Foxes in the League Cup third round on Tuesday night despite a dominant first-half performance.
Liverpool have scored nine goals in five games in the Premier League so far, while the Merseyside outfit have conceded nine times to leave Klopp’s men in eighth place.
The Foxes, on the other hand, are in 15th place after losing three of their opening five games, although Craig Shakespeare’s side have already faced Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Former Liverpool striker Owen believes the Reds will play out an entertaining game with Leicester but refused to make an outright prediction.
“The pick of the weekend’s Premier League games is a repeat of Tuesday’s League Cup tie that saw Leicester win 2-0 at the King Power Stadium however, BetVictor make The Reds odds-on to reverse the form in Saturday’s evening kick-off,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Both are often prone to defensive mistakes and with two excellent attacking line-ups in action I expect fireworks from the two sides on Saturday.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to secure a return to the Champions League in Klopp’s first full season in charge.
The Reds signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Domimic Solanke, Hull City defender Andy Robertson and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Liverpool have never won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
