BBC Sport pundit gives his prediction for Leicester v Chelsea FC
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Leicester City's home clash with Chelsea FC on Sunday
Mark Lawrenson is backing Leicester City to claim a 2-0 victory over Chelsea FC in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday.
The Blues head into the game fresh from having booked their place in the Europa League final thanks to a dramatic penalty shootout win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.
Chelsea FC secured their place in the top four last weekend and they head into the final game of the season in third place in the Premier League table.
The west London side have struggled to maintain consistent form in the Premier League this season and they have drawn two and lost one of their last five games in the top flight.
And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson feels that the Blues will be beaten by Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side in their final game of the season this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “I was really impressed by Leicester’s performance against Manchester City on Monday and the way they were set up.
“Yes, they eventually lost but they posed a real threat on the break and, from Liverpool’s point of view, it is just a pity that the only real chance that they had went to Kelechi Iheanacho, because he was not quite ready for it.
“If it had gone to Jamie Vardy in front of goal then I think there would have been a very different outcome, and Liverpool might have been given the upper hand in the title race.
“Chelsea play on Thursday night, when they could book their place in the Europa League final.
“The Blues have already made sure of a Champions League spot through their league position, so the pressure is off them a bit.”
Chelsea FC will take on Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku on 29 May.
The Blues will be aiming to end the season on a high and gain revenge for their defeat by the Gunners in the FA Cup final at Wembley last year.
