Robert Lewandowski’s agent has claimed that the striker was hugely disappointed by a perceived lack of support in his hunt for the Bundesliga golden boot award.
The Bayern Munich striker missed out on the award to Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by a single goal on the final day of the season.
There have been reports in the British media this week that Chelsea are preparing to make a bid to try and lure the Poland international to the Premier League this season.
And the striker’s agent has now appeared to fuel talk of a possible move away from Bayern Munich by revealing how disappointed the 28-year-old was after missing out on the golden boot.
Agent Maik Barthel told German football magazine Kicker, as quoted by Sky Sports: “Robert told me that he got no support and that the coach (Carlo Ancelotti) gave no call to help him win the top-scorer title in the last game.
“He was disappointed as I have ever seen him before.”
Chelsea are believed to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer as the uncertainty about Diego Costa’s future at the club continues.
The west London side have been linked with a host of players this summer but have not yet officially confirmed any new signings.
