Brendan Rodgers hailed Arsenal’s core of “wonderful technicians” after the Gunners beat his Liverpool side on Saturday.
Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey wrapped up a convincing 2-0 win for Arsene Wenger’s men as the north London side moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
And Rodgers, whose Liverpool side are five points behind the leaders in third place, has been impressed by the way Arsenal have improved this season.
“Arsenal have wonderful technicians, good mobility,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“[Mesut] Ozil is world class, Ramsey has taken his game to another level, [Mikel] Arteta is a good player, Cazorla joining in, [Tomas] Rosicky… five players who are top-class technicians.
“They have real good quality and they are at a high level and have been for a number of years.”
Rodgers believes that confidence is the key to Arsenal’s flying start to the new season.
“Arsenal are winning the race,” the Liverpool boss continued.
“These 10 games that we’ve all played. People say that it’s early [but] you don’t get them back. You have to make the points.
“At the moment, we’re on 20 points and they’re on 25. The great thing is that there’s still a lot of time to make those points up.
“But at the moment Arsenal are high on confidence. They will be pleased with the win. The better team won, make no mistake about that.”
