Liverpool capable of big things, declares Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez believes Liverpool are capable of “big things” ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Sunday.

The Reds, who are currently fourth in the table, face Arsene Wenger’s men fresh from a 5-1 victory over the north London side at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend.

Liverpool are four points behind pace-setters Chelsea following a 3-2 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage in midweek, and Suarez feels that the Reds have proven that they are capable of competing with the league’s top sides.

“I am really enjoying my time at Liverpool now, and it has been a very good season. I think we are capable of big things,” Suarez is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

“After the performance against Arsenal, believe me, we are looking forward with much ambition. We believe anything is possible for this team.

“I think the performance against Arsenal was important – we showed we can do that against a side that has been at the top.

“For me personally, I knew it was difficult a difficult game. I had to prove I was up there for Liverpool. We have to prove we were up there as a team. We believe we have done that.

“I have not scored as many goals recently of course, but Daniel Sturridge has returned and he is playing a more forward role. I am fulfilling another function, trying to help the team.”

Suarez has scored 23 goals and made eight assists in 21 Premier League appearances this season.
