Liverpool Daniel Sturridge more of a No9 than me, says Luis Suarez
Liverpool's Luis Suarez believes Reds striker Daniel Sturridge is a more of a natural number nine than the South American

Luis Suarez believes Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge is more of a natural number nine than the Uruguayan.
The 23-year-old England international has scored seven goals in eight Premier League games this season, taking him to the top of the goal-scoring charts in the English top-flight.
While Suarez is the current owner of Liverpool’s famous number nine shirt, the South American feels his strike partner Sturridge is more of a natural finisher in the penalty area.
“Whether Danny scores, I score, or Stevie or another player scores, I am so happy and so are the team,” Suarez told Liverpool’s website.
“When you have one man in the area, it’s more important. I am not a real No.9 in the area, but Daniel is more so and that’s important for me and the team.”
Suarez has scored three goals and made one assist since his return from a 10-game ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in April.
And the 26-year-old says the Reds are determined to keep improving, with Suarez stressing the importance of players such as Iago Aspas and Philippe Coutinho.
“We will try our best [to improve], but Liverpool is not only Suarez and Sturridge – it’s the whole team.
“When I was banned, Iago was playing, Philippe has been playing and although now he is injured, he will come back and help the team. We’ve also had other players come back, like Johnson, and this is important for us.”
