Brendan Rodgers believes his Liverpool side have spoilt their supporters at Anfield after a close-fought victory over Swansea City on Sunday.

The Reds have been ruthless in the face of the Premier League’s struggling sides this season, scoring an incredible 42 goals in 12 top-flight home games.

Liverpool have won by two goals or more in nine Premier League games at Anfield but were made to work hard by Garry Monk’s side on Sunday, with Jordan Henderson scoring a late winner.

And Rodgers heaped praise on his former Swans captain, who replaced Michael Laudrup at the Liberty Stadium earlier this month.

“We’ve been spoilt here at Anfield,” said Rodgers. “I think to win by one goal, people walk away thinking we’ve normally been winning by three or four goals at half-time and the game is over and everyone is sat comfortably enjoying it.

“We had to fight. Swansea drew during the week and should have beaten Napoli. They’ve come here and demonstrated that they are a good side.

“This is a much more difficult game than it would have been three or four weeks ago when you see what Garry has done with the team.

“He’s made them aggressive, he’s got them fighting, pressing, working and passing. The game was going to be a really difficult game.”

Despite a nervous win, Liverpool manager Rodgers still heaped praise on his players for showing character to keep going against the Swans.

“We take pride in the character and quality of our goals. It’s a wonderful run of results we’ve had here and we aim to keep that going,” Rodgers added.
