Gary Neville reacts to Mohamed Salah’s goal in Liverpool FC v Everton
The Man United legend hails Mohamed Salah's fantastic goal in the Merseyside derby at Anfield

Gary Neville has admitted his surprise at the quality of Mohamed Salah’s first Merseyside derby goal following Liverpool FC’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Anfield.
The Egypt international has surprised most of the Premier League with his incredible performances in the opening four months of the 2017-18 season so far.
Salah scored 13 times in his opening 15 top-flight games in a Liverpool shirt following his late effort in a 5-1 win against promoted side Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.
The £39m signing was tasked with unlocking a dogged Everton defence at Anfield on Sunday as Sam Allardyce’s side looked to contain Liverpool’s attack.
And Salah ended Everton’s resistance in the 43rd minute when the former Chelsea forward managed to evade two defenders before he curled a finish past England international Jordan Pickford.
The 25-year-old’s breathtaking opener was his 14th Premier League goal of the season to leave Salah at the top of the divison’s goal-scoring charts.
Former Manchester United defender Neville was surprised that Salah was capable of producing a strike of such quality despite his prolifc start to the Premier League season.
“It was a super goal,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Liverpool had all the possession, playing in Everton’s half but not making the goalkeeper make saves. The goal was certainly worth waiting for.
“He’s just got too much strength. It surprises me. He’s a powerful little man. The technique is super. It was real strength.”
Everton captain Wayne Rooney levelled late in the second half following a controversial penalty award.
Salah moved to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
