Neville sends warning to Everton about Liverpool FC star: He’s trouble
The ex-Everton defender warns Sam Allardyce that he can't afford to allow Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah exploit Ashley Williams' lack of pace
Phil Neville has warned Everton that they can’t afford allow Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah to go one-on-one with Ashley Williams.
The Reds will welcome their bitter rivals to Anfield on Sunday afternoon in search of a fourth successive victory in all competitions.
Liverpool FC have scored 12 times in their last two games following a 5-1 win at Brighton Hove and Albion before a 7-0 victory over Spartak Moscow mid-week.
The 18-time English champions are the third-highest Premier League goal-scorers behind Manchester City and Manchester United.
Only Paris Saint-Germain are the only club that has scored more goals in the Champions League group stage this season.
Everton, on the other hand, have conceded 28 goals in 15 games in the Premier League this term before the appointment of Sam Allardyce as their new manager
Former Man United defender Neville believes Everton can ill-afford to Liverpool star Salah to exploit Williams’ lack of pace.
“The front six are as good as any in the league. It’s just the back four,” Neville told Newstalk.
“Liverpool are devastating on the counter-attack. If Salah get a run on Williams, Everton are in big trouble.
“Everton aren’t blessed with speed.”
Salah has scored 12 goals in 15 games in the Premier League this season following his £39m move to Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
The African forward has also netted five goals in six Champions League group-stage games.
