Shaka Hislop feels that Liverpool FC are set to finish in second place in the Premier League table next season
Shaka Hislop is tipping Liverpool FC to finish in second place in the Premier League table this season.
The Reds are gearing up for the new campaign as they look to build and improve on their fourth-placed finish in the top flight under Jurgen Klopp last term.
Liverpool FC earned lots of praise for their strong performances under Klopp last season as they secured Champions League qualification and also reached the Champions League final.
The Merseyside outfit have been busy in the summer transfer window, signing Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Alisson Becker so far.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will bring in any new faces before the transfer window closes on Thursday afternoon.
But former goalkeeper Hislop feels that the Reds are well-placed to finish in second place in the Premier League table this season behind Manchester City.
Asked to predict where Liverpool FC are going to finish, Hislop told ESPN FC: “They will finish second. They have the second best squad in the Premier League.”
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
The Merseyside outfit will kick off their new Premier League season with a home clash against West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
