BBC Sport sends message to new Liverpool FC signing after Alisson injury
BBC Sport pundit Stephen Warnock says new Liverpool FC signing Adrian has a chance to impress after Alisson Becker's injury

Adrian has a great chance to make a claim for a starting spot in the Liverpool FC team after Adrian’s injury, according to BBC Sport pundit Stephen Warnock.
The Spanish goalkeeper signed a deal with the Champions League winners last week after Adrian was released by West Ham United earlier this summer.
Adrian was signed to replace second-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet after the Belgium international moved to Club Brugge last week.
However, the summer signing made his Liverpool FC debut earlier than expected after Alisson Becker suffered an injury in the first half.
Adrian was called into action before the break to replace Alisson but he couldn’t keep a clean sheet after Finland international Teemu Pikku scored a consolation goal in the 64th minute.
Former Liverpool FC defender Warnock says Adrian has an opportunity to make a claim for a starting spot in the Reds team.
“I don’t think this will faze Adrian,” Warnock told BBC Sport.
“He’s a big character and was very influential in the West Ham dressing room.
“I think he’ll enjoy the challenge of coming here. He said he wanted to put pressure on Alisson – I don’t think he’d have thought it would come this quick – but what a chance he’s got now.”
Liverpool FC finished with the best defensive record in the Premier League last season after the Reds conceded 22 times in 38 games last term.
Alisson kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper last term after the Brazilian goalkeeper moved to Liverpool FC from AS Roma in 2018.
Liverpool FC won the Champions League title last term after finishing in second place in the table.
