Klopp admits Oxlade-Chamberlain has surprised him at Liverpool FC

Jurgen Klopp is encouraged by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s rapid progress at Liverpool FC.
The England international moved to Liverpool FC in a £40m deal from their Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Oxlade-Chamberlain opted to move to Anfield despite apparent interest from Chelsea FC, while Arsenal made a contract offer to the versatile midfielder.
The 24-year-old stagnated at Arsenal in his last couple of seasons at The Emirates as both the club and the player failed to realise their potential.
Klopp initially used the England midfielder sparingly before the Liverpool FC manager placed his trust in the former Southampton star.
Oxlade-Chamberlain created Mohamed Salah’s 32nd goal of the 2017-18 season in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weeend.
The Liverpool FC summer signing was heavily praised for his outstanding performance against the Magpies after Oxlade-Chamberlain took his tally to three goals and four assists in the Premier League.
Speaking to BT Sport about Oxlade-Chamberlain’s improvement at Liverpool FC, Klopp said:
“From a tactical [point of view], he’s made fantastic steps. To be honest I didn’t expect that so quickly even though it’s been seven months.
“I think there’s no doubt that all of his football skills are outstanding – right foot, left foot, speed, physicality… and he’s still young, so there is a lot to come I’m sure. I’m really happy about this signing.”
The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table and two points behind Manchester United.
Liverpool FC will make the short trip to Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on Saturday.
