Jamie Redknapp: Liverpool FC teenager is special talent, he’ll go right to the top
The former Liverpool FC captain has high hopes for Reds full-back Trent Alexander Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold has the talent to become a top right-back for Liverpool FC and England, Jamie Redknapp has claimed.
The Reds teenager has made a promising start to his Anfield career after the right-back made his debut under Jurgen Klopp last season.
Alexander-Arnold scored his first Premier League goal for the 18-time English champions in their 5-0 win over Swansea City on Boxing Day.
The Liverpool FC starlet placed a powerful finish past Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to score his first goal in front of The Kop.
The 19-year-old opened his Reds account in some style when he scored a brilliant free-kick in a 2-1 win at Hoffenheim in their Champions League playoff clash back in August.
Former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp has tipped Alexander-Arnold to become England’s first-choice right-back in the coming seasons.
“He is a special talent. He has all the attributes to go right to the top. I’m talking about being England’s right back,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“He has a great attitude. He has a great touch. He is a special athlete. The game is so natural to him.
“The sky is the limit for him.”
Liverpool are in fourth place in the Premier League table ahead of the visit of Leicester City in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds finished in the top four last season to secure a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2014-15.
